As part of our Classic Range, PURIST concentrates on the art of the essential; dispensing of all that is superfluous. This series is characterised by its gently rounded handles and a broadly shaped neck.
The natural material ebonite, made on the basis of natural rubber and sulphur, is reminiscent of ebony and delivers both durability and beauty. The process of creating this shaving brush begins with each handle being turned out of solid ebonite rods. All individual pieces are then polished in several passes, giving the surface its characteristic gleam and securing its beauty for many years to come. This is then finished with chrome metal highlights.

The Material - Olive wood
Since ancient times, olive wood has been valued for its outstanding material characteristics and warm coloring. It is to be found throughout the Mediterranean region and has been used for centuries to make durable goods or artistic objects.
The wood we use must be dried carefully for months before the handles are turned. We then sand the surfaces, seal them with oil and polish them to a silky finish. This brings out the gentle, honey-coloured grain of the wood particularly well.
Without chrome the world would forfeit a lot of its lustre. In the finish used for our wet shaving accessories it demonstrates its best qualities: The material is corrosion-resistant, very long-lasting and has a luxurious, alluring lustre. The Material - Thuja wood
From golden brown to ruddy, with subtle or vivid veining in the grain: The burl of the sandarac tree, or Barbary thuja as it is also known, is regarded as one of the most valuable and most beautiful woods in the world.
The strongly grained root burl only grows to a respectable size once the tree has died. The tuber is therefore hide to find and to recover. The scantlings are picked by hand and turned.
Only sections displaying an exceptionally beautiful grain are used. While being made into handles the wood is stabilized and coated with high-grade resin in a special procedure. This makes it water-resistant and hard-wearing. The high-gloss surface very expressively accentuates the individual veining of the grain.
