"I bought a Merkur Futur set many years ago and the brush finally finally fell apart. Decided to get a full new set and settled on the Rocca black razor, matching silver tip badger brush and matching stand. First off, the presentation is incredible...nicely boxed and wrapped. The fit and finish is flawless, couldn't find anything wrong with it...period. My favorite blade in my futur is the personna red so I loaded one up. Only on my second blade and am experiencing a few more nicks than with the futur. Quickly realized angle is super important on this razor and it will bite you if you get lazy at the end of your stroke. No razor burn, tho. Haven't experimented with other blades yet so that may help. Shave is great, with a two pass shave (down/up) I'm able to look presentable with just an every other day shave. Brush is wonderful. It's big, it's heavy and it produces a great lather from my shave soap with minimal work. Also holds more than enough lather for two pass shaves and looks great in its stand on the counter. Bottom line, it's a great purchase and a welcome addition to my collection."
