Old school with modern look

"Never used an old school razor before and I'm happy with this investment. It may not get as close as a shave like a 5 blade Gillette razor, but my face doesn't get razor burn. I only nicked myself once so far and that was by my ear I was careless. I use a preshave oil and I use a nice sandlewood soap that lathers up nice on my shaving brush. I washed my brush with mild shampoo a couple of times before first shave and no foul odor coming off it. I get one of the most comfortable shaves outside a professional barber"

"I've never shaved with a safety razor before, but my thick facial hair has always caused irritation regardless of the type of cartridge I've used. It's no surprise that I go through cartridges quickly, as they take quite a beating. Being bald and shaving my head at least once every three days adds to the challenge. I don't like cheap quality, so after extensive research, I stumbled across Muhle. My first shave with their razor was amazing. I only had one tiny nick, and it didn't even irritate me. I used the blade that came with the razor, and found the process very intuitive. The shave was closer than any I've ever had with cartridges. Even with Muhle's more expensive blades, I'll save a substantial amount of money, and the set will pay for itself in under a year. Shaving my head was great, too, with no nicks. There's a bit of a learning curve, but I have no complaints."
